Performed well–fast data transfer. Small form factor. Seems a good value for the money.

After trying two of the 1TB flash Drives, I noticed the performance difference with the Toshiba Drive Immediately. I plugged it in and did a test to see how fast it would work. Very satisfied with it’s performance. I should have gone this route in the beginning. Unlike the previous 1TB Drive I tried, this accepts the data and allows me to update files that’s been copied as well. Great product. I have the case on the way as well.

Very compact, excellent price, and has not caused any problems. Very useful for my work, and an exemplar for long-term memory storage.

I LOVE how quickly this drive copies files in comparison to the speed of a usb or thumb drive. I kinda wish I would’ve got a bigger storage capacity now that I know how great this thing is. It’s reliable and a great way to organize all my photos and files. Downside; I could not copy photos from my old Mac to it for some reason… idk if it’s just bc it’s an older Mac but it didn’t seem very compatible. I could view the files already on the drive, but that was it. Couldn’t move anything to it from the computer. I did get a slightly newer hp computer and this drive works VERY well with it. My only future concern is that the cord seems like it may wear down quickly and I’ll have to figure out a replacement, as the side of the cord that plugs into the drive is a very unique shape and sometimes seems like it comes out a little too easily but other than that baby concern I love this thing! I just purchased a 1 terabyte and needed it for large photography files, but Id gladly buy another one if this one fills up. Worth the price! Doesn’t get hot, doesn’t make any noise and does exactly what it’s intended to do!

I chose the 2TB model as I have read that they last longer, bought it to store video files and have used about half the available space. The drive comes in a nice case (black) and for me using Win 10 it was plug and play – convenient, very convenient. I’ve used it a few weeks now and everything is working well as to reading and writing. It is running cool to the touch too. There have been zero errors and it writes quickly even though my computer is a bit older.
Only con is that I wish the cable were a bit longer as I have to sit it on top of the tower and would prefer it next to the computer. A minor complaint and I plan to buy another in the near future.

The external drive connected very quickly and has been working well since I set it up over a month ago. Unlike my last drive, it is small and light weight, and takes little room on my crowded work area. It operates noiselessly and never hesitates when activated (i.e. moving a file to store on it or to look for a file stored there). I especially like that the drive does not require an external power source, gaining its power via the single USB cable to my laptop. Very pleased and highly recommended!

I was tired of paying for online backup so decided to get a second backup device for photos and docs. This filled the bill economically and works well. Speed is great and no errors were found. Now I just rotate my drives about once a month and keep the spare off premise.

I got this Toshiba Portable External Hard Drive for my son so he can download games to his laptop.
The computer he currently uses didn’t have enough space for the game he wanted so now he can download and store it on this external drive while freeing up room on his computer.
With 1TB of space, he has plenty of room for games, files, photos and whatever else he wants to keep.
You can easily plug this in to your computer right out of the box and it’s ready. I opted to format it so that it can be viewed on both Mac and PC computers just in case.
I have no complaints. Tons of storage on a reliable drive for an affordable price. Should we fill this one up or need an additional drive, I’d get this one again or upgrade to the 2TB version.

I’ve used two Toshiba external drives for many years now, one for my laptop and one for my PS4, and when the laptop seemed to be having more and more trouble recognizing its external drive, even after cleaning the plug contacts, I figured it was time for a new drive.
This new drive does not disappoint. In fact, it makes such short work of backing up files that it became clear to me that the previous drive must have been dying for some time…
I am amused too that the LED indicator light on this new drive doesn’t flash like a coquette blinking her eyes the way the previous drives did. Instead, this drive blinks the LED very slowly and deliberately while it’s working, as if to say, “I’ve got this; nothing to worry about!”
At first I had a problem getting the drive to back up my laptop. The computer recognized the drive and the LED lit up solid, but my repeated command “Back up now” kept failing.
I tried cleaning the plug contacts, rebooting the laptop, and even reformatting the drive, but still no successful backup. Then I discovered that Windows 10 makes you click on a “Stop using this drive” button (your previous drive) before you tell it to “Add a new drive.”
Once I had gone through that little ritual, all was well. And indeed, I was amazed how fast the new drive backed up all my files, accomplishing in less than an hour what the old drive had taken a number of hours to do.
All in all, this drive does its job, and I trust I will get years of use out of it, as I did the Toshiba’s before…
