The installation was fairly straight forward. The menu guides you through the basics. Connected to wifi and it was up and running in no time. It printed double sided, is fast, and relatively quiet in an office environment. It was Google Cloud compatible so was able to set it up so I can print from anywhere. Very convenient. Print quality is pretty standard and comparable with other laser printers. I’ve not used it for larger jobs to test speed yet. Build quality is excellent. I’ve had good experience with Lexmark in the past. This one seems no different. So far it works well for our needs. The only negative, if it can be called that, is that this model is a bit bulky for our tight office space.

Small, Convenient, toner inexpensive compared to previous network printers(45% less cost per cartridge with same output).

My previous Lexmark served me very well for the 4+ years I used it, but I really wanted to update to a printer with built in WiFi. (I was using a $20 external WiFi router to get the old printer on my network.)

This new Lexmark was very easy to setup and get on WiFi. You download a Lexmark app, then (like almost every “smart” device these days), you enable setup mode on the front panel of the printer and then connect your phone/tablet to it’s WiFi network. After that, it’s able to push settings from your phone to the printer (though you have to enter your WiFi password manually — many gadgets I have can do this for me). It went very well, and within minutes of getting the power plugged up, I was on my network.

I tested it by printing some pages from my old MacBook (wireless). The printer showed up immediately and “just worked.” I then printed some items from my iPad to test our AirPrint. Again, it “just worked.”

I have since printed a number of documents and shipping labels, and everything has worked just fine.

The only thing I have noticed so far is a bit of a squeak when it’s in operation. If I figure out what is causing it, I’ll update this review.

I found it difficult to connect to multiple computers in our home . We did google cloud print also and it did not work. We did call Lexmark to fix the issues and the call was 4 hours long with no resolution. They offered to call me back but they never did, They sent an email two days later offering to have another call back but at this point I find the whole situation tiresome.

I already own an all-in-one printer by Lexmark that’s larger in size which I use for my small business. I decided to get this more basic printer for home use due to it not being so big. Now it’s still a pretty hefty printer that weighs around 35 lbs, but it’s much smaller than my office one that weighs over 50 lbs. Be aware that this is a basic black and white only printer. So if you’re look for an all-in-one that’s able to copy, scan, and print; then you’ll want to look for another option. This one is merely for speedy printing of a large volume of documents at a fast pace. It was roughly the same easy setup as the last one, so I was able to connect it to the wifi fairly quickly. This is a fast printer that has an output speed of 46 pages per minute. I’ve use it a lot for printing documents and invoices that I can use at my small business when I get there. My wife also uses it to print off invoices and packing slips for crafts that she makes and ships. Overall we’re very pleased with the simplistic design and speed at which this printer can operate.

It was easy to physically set up. There are a few pieces of tape and some plastic spacers to remove. They’re marked on an enclosed cheat sheet to you don’t miss any. Then you power it up and the LCD asks you to setup via the Lexmark smartphone app. I have an iPhone so used the iOS version of the app. Setup on my wireless network was flawless. You get prompted through a few steps in the app and on the printer display, and wizard connects the printer to your network. All was fine and easy until I tried to connect my Windows 10 laptop to it. First, it wouldn’t automatically detect the printer. That was easy to remedy by manually directing to the printer’s address (which you can get from the LCD panel). But then it couldn’t find the driver. Even Windows Update didn’t have a driver for this printer. Amazing. So I inserted the enclosed CD (glad my old laptop has a CD drive) but the Lexmark wizard on the CD crashed. I had to drill down through the folders to find the actual zipped driver, unzip it, then go through the Windows Add Printer wizard and point it to the driver. I could have been printing in under 15 minutes had everything worked like it should. But it took over a half hour to set this up because of the problems. Someone less technical might not have been able to do it as fast as I did.

Once going though, it’s an awesome little printer. Print quality is excellent and it spits the pages out fast, even from a cold start. Starting cold it took about 7 seconds to print this review. It’s fairly compact and unobtrusive for an office printer too.
